Biography
Kristen is an Associate in the firm’s Litigation group. Kristen comes to Ogden Murphy, representing a diverse range of clients ranging from hospitals and doctors to property management companies and local sports clubs.
Kristen is admitted to practice in Washington. She received her B.A. in Biological Basis of Behavior from the University of Pennsylvania and her J.D. from University of Washington School of Law. Kristen has a diverse legal background having worked for two years in criminal law as both a defense and prosecuting attorney. During this time, she drafted and argued numerous motions, including a brief on a Defendant’s Right to a Speedy Trial due to the delays caused by COVID 19 and drafted a brief on her favorite criminal law issue: double jeopardy. After spending nearly two years in criminal law, Kristen transitioned to working as a civil defense attorney, where she has been representing clients for the last three years. Her practice has included defending hospitals, physician groups, and doctors in medical malpractice claims, as well representing physicians before the Washington Medical Commission. Kristen has also defended clients accused of Consumer Protection Act and Washington Law Against Discrimination violations, institutions accused of systemic child sexual abuse, and other general litigation matters. Furthermore, Kristen advises clients on pre-litigation matters to determine a client’s potential litigation exposure and how to prevent similar situations.
Kristen is an avid runner partial to the half marathon distance, but when she is not running, she enjoys playing squash, riding her motorcycle, playing with her Great Pyrenees, and drinking old world wines and champagnes.
