Adriana advises businesses, health care organizations, and individuals, on employment and health law matters including discrimination, retaliation, wage and hour, workplace leave, and accommodations, along with other issues.
Adriana advises employers on a wide range of employment law matters, with strategic insight into issues affecting the healthcare sector. Her counsel spans discrimination, retaliation, and harassment; workplace policies; leave and accommodation obligations; internal investigations; and whistleblower and public policy concerns. She regularly defends businesses and healthcare providers in administrative proceedings before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, Washington State Human Rights Commission, Employment Security Department, Washington Medical Commission, and the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services.
Adriana also maintains an active litigation practice involving employment-related disputes, including claims of retaliation, discrimination, breach of contract and fiduciary duty, violations of noncompetition and non-solicitation agreements, trade secret misappropriation, and breaches of confidentiality obligations. In addition to her private practice, Adriana advocates for survivors of domestic and sexual violence, providing pro bono legal representation in matters involving protection orders and other legal remedies.
Adriana earned her J.D. from the University of Washington School of Law, where she served as Executive Articles Editor of the Washington Law Review. She holds an M.Sc. from Duke University and a B.A. with honors from Macalester College. A former Fulbright Fellow, Adriana speaks fluent Portuguese and Spanish has spent significant time in Brazil.
