Shawntá S. Mosley is an associate in the firm’s Healthcare and Business Departments with a practice focusing on health information technology and healthcare.

In her health IT practice, Shawntá represents software companies and health IT vendors in negotiating contracts regarding electronic health records, software licensing, data hosting services, and technology implementation.  She has experience counseling her clients on strategies involving health information interoperability, data blocking, privacy policies and terms of service issues, and HIPAA and state privacy laws.

Shawntá’s healthcare practice focuses on health information privacy and security compliance issues regarding Business Associate Agreements, services agreements, HIPAA breach issues, and HITECH compliance.  She also advises clients on provider and hospital contracting, public hospital district issues, fraud and abuse, professional and facility licensing, medical staff issues, and equipment leasing.

Shawntá is licensed to practice in Washington, Colorado, and Arizona.  She is a member of the Washington State Bar Association Health Law Section, the Washington State Society of Healthcare Attorneys, and the American Health Lawyers Association.

Shawntá received her LL.M. in U.S. Health Law and Policy from the University of Washington School of Law where she achieved the top full-time GPA.  She earned her law degree at Phoenix School of Law and directly following graduation, Shawntá clerked for the Honorable Edward W. Bassett (ret.), judge for Maricopa County Superior Court.  She received her bachelor’s degree from Arizona State University.
