The Growth Management Group at Ogden Murphy Wallace, P.L.L.C. provides assistance to our municipal clients in complying with Washington’s Growth Management Act.  The GMA was enacted in response to rapid population growth and concerns with suburban sprawl, environmental protection, quality of life, and related issues.

Municipalities are required to adopt comprehensive plans as the starting point and centerpiece for local planning process.  These plans must address requirements in the GMA, including elements of land use, housing, capital facilities, utilities, and transportation.  Our municipal attorneys work closely with our clients in developing not only a GMA compliant comprehensive plan, but also one that can accommodate development regulations that are consistent with their vision for the future.

Our attorneys are experienced in representing municipalities and public entities whose comprehensive plans or development regulations are challenged before the Growth Management Hearing Boards, and during subsequent appeals up to the highest court.
