Dr. Douglas K. Yoshida is a member in the firm’s healthcare and litigation practice groups. He has extensive experience representing health care providers (hospitals, clinics, physicians, nurses, chiropractors, and therapists), medical device manufacturers, pharmaceutical companies, and other product manufacturers. He has also represented physicians and hospitals in licensing/disciplinary matters. He has given numerous presentations on risk management, medical malpractice, and product liability issues.
Dr. Yoshida is currently licensed to practice medicine in the State of Washington and has been since 1984. In 1998 he was appointed by Governor Gary Locke to the Washington State Medical Quality Assurance Commission and served two full terms on the Commission until June 2006.
Among Dr. Yoshida’s professional memberships and activities are: the Washington State and King County Bar Associations, the Oregon State Bar, the Washington State Medical Association, the King County Medical Society, the Washington Health Care Risk Management Society, the Washington State Society of Healthcare Attorneys, the Defense Research Institute, the Washington Defense Trial Lawyers, and the American Health Lawyers Association. He was formerly a member of the Board of Directors for Nikkei Concerns and is currently a member of its Advisory Council.
Dr. Yoshida was born in Los Angeles, California in 1956. He received his A.B. degree from Stanford University in 1978, his M.D. degree from St. Louis University School of Medicine in 1982, and his J.D. degree from the University of Washington in 1987.
